I have an idea why you want to learn how to drive sales with SEO. Once you get to the front page, you will stay there as long as your content is better than others.

It may take a lot of SEO work to rank, but you don’t need to exert continuous effort to drive sales through it. Awesome, right?

In this article, we will discuss the following:

  • Why use SEO to increase sales
  • How to drive sales with SEO
  • How to track SEO progress

Let’s get started!

Why Use SEO to Increase Sales

If you are promoting your business on social media, you need to post regularly to stay relevant. Once you stop, you disappear from your audience’s mind.

That could become exhausting, and expensive. If you don’t have time to create social media graphics or videos, or even write, you need to pay people to do it.

SEO is different, which is why I prefer it to social media marketing.

Optimizing pages may be time-consuming, but if you do it right the first time, you can forget about it and move on.

You will get back to it only if you encounter issues connected to that particular page, or if the competitors outranked it.

How to Drive Sales With SEO

There are many strategies to drive sales with SEO, but you are not required to implement all of them to get good results.

You have lots of things to do in your business. Your budget may be small. I have here four methods from which you can pick.

1. Make the Website Mobile Responsive

Many who do online shopping use their mobile phones to find products or services to purchase.

Even online shopping addicts have more important things to do, perhaps working to have money to spend, so they do it on the side.

On the side: in between work tasks, at lunch, before bed, during commute. And what is the most convenient way to do that but using their phones!

If your business has an app, great!

But if an eCommerce store is all you have, and it is not mobile responsive, they will not be interested to browse. $0 sales!

2. Optimize Pages to Drive Sales Organically

Organic SEO is time-consuming and may stress you out if you don’t know how it works. But if you have a limited budget and not rushing, that is a great affordable way to drive sales.

If you produce content with superior quality that competitors would need to hire super-skilled SEO professionals and their mothers to beat it, no need to do anything more to secure your position.

Hit publish, then forget. Make some changes if they found a way to outrank you.

3. Use Paid Search Marketing If You Have a Budget

You want to be at the top of SERPs in less than 24 hours because you want to have $5 in sales right away. Search engine marketing it is!

Search engine marketing, or paid search marketing, is self-explanatory: It is paid marketing using search engines. Paid!

Even if you have not done it ever, you probably have seen many companies that have. They are the ones under “Sponsored” or similar.

4. Post Links to Blog Pages on Social Media

You may be wondering why social media is on the list.

If you post links to your product or service pages on your social media pages, those links are no-follow.

No-follow links have almost no effect on a website’s authority score. However, search engines see them.

And if most of your customers are coming from social media, search engines will think: “Oh, this website has a strong social media presence, so this must be a quality website.”

How to Track SEO Progress

When choosing tools for tracking SEO progress, take into account what specific numbers you want to track.

Unique visitors? Visitors who click a link? Sales generated?

SEO tools can’t tell you the exact number of sales made, but they can help you get an idea of how many of your paying customers were from search engines.

The free Google Analytics tool is helpful for this purpose, although I recommend Microsoft Clarity as it records the actions taken by your visitors.

You can connect your Google Analytics to Microsoft Clarity, though!

Personal information and sensitive details are censored, but it will show you vital information: what they clicked, which pages they checked, and more.

Conclusion

How to drive sales with SEO? The process isn’t any different from the typical SEO process. What differs is mostly the keywords you will target.

You want to drive sales, so targeting product or service keywords is necessary. Examples of those keywords are “blue sweatshirt for men” and “affordable content writing service.”

You can do organic SEO, which is slower but reaps long-lasting results, or paid SEO, which is instant but quite expensive to maintain.

Many consumers use social media to find stuff to purchase.

While it does have an indirect SEO effect on the website, an effect is an effect. You can use it, too, to drive sales.
